Do I need to have an Interactive User Session logged into the machine to run easy PDF API?
Last Updated: April 4, 2014
It depends on your system. We have recently managed to add a workaround to easy PDF API WordPrintJob, but this relies on tools only available in Microsoft Word 2010 and later version. If you have Microsoft Office 2010 and easy PDF SDK 7 or above you will not need to worry. If you are using one of the following Operating Systems; Windows Vista, 7, 8, Windows Server 2008 and 2012, you will need to choose one of the four options below to run easy PDF API:
- Keep an Interactive User Session logged into the machine at all times.
- Use easy PDF API WordPrintJobEx. Be aware that WordPrintJobEx requires either Word 2013, 2010, or Word 2007 plus the free "Save as PDF or XPS" add-in from Microsoft.
- Use Word 2010 or 2013, which work fine with easy PDF API WordPrintJob on the server side, regardless of the operating system.
- Use Windows Server 2003, which works fine with easy PDF API WordPrintJob on the server side, regardless of the Office version.
