What is the Loader Object and why does it exist?
Last Updated: 4/23/2014
The Loader Object is a Windows Service that is designed to help BCL’s PDF SDK function on a Server. Normally, Windows Server Operating Systems prevent Web Services from launching desktop applications remotely, Office in particular is prevented from doing so, because otherwise it could be used as a backdoor onto the Server. The Loader Object is a way for BCL’s PDF SDK to Prove to the Server that it is a local application and thus can be trusted to open Office Remotely.
The Loader Service is added when you install BCL’s PDF SDK and will automatically start if an application using the Loader Object creates said Loader Object. There are some other steps needed to completely setup the Loader Object, which are documented in the Manual under "Preparing Your Server".
